But it feels to me as if the writing was a little rushed. I still loved it and will re-read it every time I re-read the Krewe of Hunters novels but so far this is my least favorite. While you know the main female character, or should if you are reading the books in order, you don't get a good "fleshing out" of the main male character. There are also secondary characters that seem a little two-dimensional, which is very strange for a Heather Graham novel let alone a Krewe novel. Last issue with the book is when the Krewe is called in they are there with six normally, but at least five. This only pulls two.All that being said, it is still an enjoyable novel and I still have trouble figuring out who is responsible. I really enjoy the fact that Ms. Graham doesn't easily give away who is the killer. It's nice to have to stay guessing; let's you use your brain!
As for who will like this book I believe anyone who reads Heather Graham, mystery, suspense, murder, or paranormal books and anyone who watches TV and Movies I those same genres as well as those who enjoy crime solving and criminal procedure.

The Forgotten Krewe of Hunters Heather Graham 9780778318576 Books Reviews
Sorry but it has been quite sometime since I finished reading this book. The note in my records is "good" and I do have others of hers on my to be read yet. I am giving it five stars since I liked it enough to order others.
I love reading the "Krewe" series! If you like mysteries with a little paranormal, then this is a book for you. Heather Graham has written many different series. This is one of my favorites. Her writing style gives enough info without taking an entire page to describe a scene so it's a good read. Read them in order if you can as she builds on the characters. Tou finish one book and want to immediately start reading the next. (I intentionally did not talk about the story itself so as not to spoil it for anyone.
Yay!!!! After not caring for the last two books, I really liked this one. I really liked to dolphins story line. Great H and h. Good ghost interaction.
I felt there was a little to much inner dialogue, mainly in the first half, but I thought it was a good book.
This book is a follow on from The Silenced and you really need to read that one first - the story is different (it's even in a different location) but three of the main characters are the same and knowing some backstory is helpful. I really enjoy Heather's paranormal romances especially the Krewe books. This one isnt a favourite though for a few reasons.
1. Not enough Krewe! I like to see at least one "old" Krewe member in each Krewe book but this one only had the two we were newly introduced to in The Silenced.
2. Zombies. I really just wasn't buying the whole zombie thing. A lot of it made no sense - scientifically, medically or plot wise ( I still have no idea how or why they got the "zombies" to kill their loved ones). I would much rather a good old fashioned murder plot.
3. The "Hero" - he was a bit two dimensional this time.
4. Cocoa the Dolphin. I kept wanting to call her Lassie. Dolphins are smart - but Cocoa was on a whole new level.
5. The Bad Guy Monologue. The bad guy is threatening our heroines with a poison dart and takes the time to give a brief history of the poison - it's discovery and uses etc. Really.
6. Overall it felt sort of rushed - we usually get a bit more of the local atmosphere, some lunches with friends, a bit of local colour. This time seemed all business. Usually after reading one of Heather's novels I desperately want to visit that location - this time not so much.
One character who really stood out as likeable, loyal and funny was the male leads partner Diego - and I'm looking forward to HIS main role in the third book in this series.
I don't give books a 4 rating lightly; there aren't many novels I enjoy. I enjoy most of Heather Graham's. This one was a bit too predictable, and there was WAY too much time spent in bed and focus on skewed sideways romance and sleeping around - which is pretty much how I perceive people who casually hop in and out of a marriage, if they ever actually hopped back into the marriage.
A mystery book should focus on the mystery, as far as I'm concerned. A LITTLE romance, alright, but not page after page after page, and not every 4th page spent in bed.
Heather Graham and her Krewe of Hunters do not get enough attention these books deserve. I love her writing style and how she mixes the paranormal with mystery and plenty of twists and turns that are unexpected. She develops characters so they come to life and feel like people you know or would like to know. The romance she includes improve the quality of the book.
There are 17 books in her series but each one is a standalone so you don't have to read the entire series to enjoy each book. I have read most of the series and the books I have missed I am going back to read. The series is that good. I hope this recommendation is enough for you stop searching and just enjoy this book
All of the Krewe of Hunter's series were very enjoyable. But I recommend you read the series Harrison Investigations first. Harrison is a man that puts together people who are good for special cases. The Krewe was a group that worked for his department and called themselves the Krewe of Hunters. If you read them out of sequence.. it is still great. You will enjoy them.
For the person who poo poos the thought of ghosts and paranormal, you should still read these books. Harrison say that ghosts and whatever do not create evil or do evil. It is always found that when his investigators go looking at cases that they are very human people living around that area that are doing the crimes. Writing is good, mystery is well done and I'm good at figuring them out before the end but find I'm not so sure with Ms. Graham's stories. For the most part she writes about places in Florida (The Keys, Orlando, etc). She also writes about crime in New Orleans and now I'm reading about Maine. I enjoy the books and learn about what is like to live in these areas. Been to New Orleans but picked up some thoughts that will make my next trip even more interesting.
But it feels to me as if the writing was a little rushed. I still loved it and will re-read it every time I re-read the Krewe of Hunters novels but so far this is my least favorite.
